Front Door of our apartment
This is the front door of our apartment - built in the 1920's. Wrought Iron, glass and carved limestone - you will not see one of these in Australia

Peles Castle - Stained Glass Windows
Peles is Romania's most beautiful castle built in the period from 1873 to 1883 by King Carol 1 of Romania.
Peles Castle - Magnificent
King Carol the first built Peles castle - the Castle is rather Bavarian in style and was built by craftsmen from Germany, Austria, Italy - Romanian's provided the hard labour. King Carol was well known for his playboy lifestyle and as a leader is now much loved compared to the awful history of the communist period.

Brasov is one of Romania's large cities near the ski resorts and famous for its cathedral - The Black Church
Chris Hardwick visits
I worked with Chris at Westpac Bank before leaving Australia. She came to visit for a few days and we went on a trip to the mountains. Anne and Chris are pictured at Peles Castel on the way to Brasov

We stepped back in time some 200 years when visiting this small Hungarian speaking village in Romania near the Olt river
Nick's Birthday Party with friends
Nick invited all of his friends from school to his birthday party at our house. They were a lovely group, they ate, talked a lot, watched movies and went for a walk in the cold of the night.

The Romanian countryside is a stark contrast to the ugliness of cities such as Bucharest.
